Description

Queer cabaret with music, comedy and poetry. Featuring the launch of poetry pamphlet 'What a Cock Up!' by Suky Goodfellow.

Poetry from Suky Goodfellow
Punk poet Suky Goodfellow has been performing poetry in Edinburgh for the last 10 years. 'What a Cock Up!' is their first pamphlet. Themes include left-wing politics, anti-austerity, mental health, queer love. They have previously been a featured poet at Manchester Punk Festival, Kelburn Garden Party, Belladrum Festival, The National Library of Scotland, and Poetry Circus. They supported Andrea Gibson at The Mash House in Edinburgh in 2018. Their solo choose-your-own-adventure poetry show 'Political Acid Trip' had a 10 day run at the Edinburgh Festival 2017, as part of the PBH Free Fringe. They also play guitar in riot grrrl band Fistymuffs and run events as Queer as Punk.

Comedy from Alvin Bang
Alvin Bang is an Greenock born and raised stand-up comic who rose from the ashes of his traumatic failed business career to become a filmmaker, writer and an Edinburgh based comic. Alvin Bang has written for BBC Radio Scotland?s Noising Up and has a self-funded short film in post-production which will launch its festival run later this year.
Alvin?s class culture clash comedy continues bring the Edinburgh bourgeoise to its knees, with an upcoming appearance on Roast Battle Scotland as well as his own show (with comic Ayo Adenekan) Zebra Comedy.

Music from Pink Pound
Pink Pound is the larger than lyfe drag demoness, charming coquette, and acerbic artiste persona of Andrew Milk (Current Affairs, Shopping) summoned as solo performance work and an electronic music project. Milk creates a kaleidoscopic landscape of fist pumping Hi-NRG gay disco and introspective bedroom pop that explores identity, power dynamics and joyful connection found within queer spaces both physical and intangible. The music was best described by a fan recently as ?The Yassification of New Order??'. In August 2022 the debut album ?Cottage Industry? came out via American record label Cruisin? Records- Milk?s first full length release as a solo artist.
