About Joshua Burnell and Band
Traditional ballads with a healthy dose of Hammond Organ.
Joshua Burnell sparked the interest of the folk world with his ambitious Seasons Project which saw him release one of his folk-rock arrangements of a traditional song or tune every week for a year. Fourteen favourites formed Joshua’s release, Songs From The Seasons, released on the 4th May 2018. RnR Magazine gave the album a solid 5/5 rating and commented, “this isn’t about academic research, it’s about playing the music, which is what Joshua does exceptionally well."
On 15th February, Joshua is following up Songs From The Seasons with another folk-rock offering – The Road To Horn Fair. The album has been played numerous times on both The Folk Show on BBC Radio 2, and on the Tom Robinson Show on BBC Radio 6, in addition to widespread region radio play and glowing reviews (5/5 Northern Sky Mag).
