Description

Tankus the Henge is the London based, five wheeled, funk fuelled, open top, custom paint job, rock ‘n’ roll jalopy that comes careering round the corner on a tranquil summer’s day, ruining the silence and disturbing the bats.

Having played over 1000 shows all over the world the Tankus the Henge live experience is something to behold. Combining wild showmanship and musical dexterity their sound incorporates rock, funk, blues, ska, roots and gypsy rhythms and their songs tell stories of wonder and woe.
Since the release of their first album in 2013 the band has toured extensively across Europe and also become a favourite on the festival circuit.
Tankus the Henge have played at:
Glastonbury, Benicassim, WOMAD (UK and Gran Canaria), Isle of Wight, Boomtown, Montreux Jazz Festival, Latitude, Bestival, Les Fanfarfelues, Port Eliot, Shambala, Solfest, Artisti in Piazza, Waterford Spraoi, Secret Garden Party, Fusion, Beautiful Days and many more.
With their charismatic frontman, Jaz Delorean, looking like a lost character from a Terry Gilliam film Tankus the Henge launch into their live shows like a band possessed. They’ve left audiences breathless at headline shows including Scala, The Garage, The Borderline and The Jazz Café. They’ve featured on TV, in major advertising campaigns, toured Albania as emissaries for the British Council and made records in Nashville, Tennessee.

All the band’s singles, ‘Cakewalk’, ‘Recurring Dream’, ‘Smiling Makes The Day Go Quicker’ and ‘Weather’, have been featured extensively on radio including plays on Alex Lester’s Radio 2 show as well as Steve Lamacq and Chris Hawkins’ 6 Music shows.

Description

We are delighted to announce that Under the Hill will return in 2019, with diverse music including Reggae, Ska, Electroswing, Drum & Bass, Electro & Gypsy Punk. So if you are looking for a small, eclectic, intimate festival, with great music, make sure you are part of the new festival on the block. Limited earlybird tickets are on sale now!

Last year saw the birth of a new, exciting festival, set under the hill near Evesham, created by a small team of music and creative enthusiasts, who were determined to create a unique experience, with a personal touch, and above all, amazing music.

It couldn’t have been better. We saw people of all ages joining us, dressing up, dancing, stage invading, hula hooping, wall climbing, face painting, wood carving, skanking and smiling, always smiling! We were so touched by the words of support and are incredibly grateful for everyone who worked hard to make this event happen.

Which is why, we are so unbelievably delighted to announce that Under the Hill will return in 2018, bigger and better before!

This year we invite you to join us on Friday 25 May, for a chilled out evening of music, film, and meeting new faces. We will then start the main music on Saturday 26 May, with even more diverse music including Reggae, Ska, Electroswing & Gypsy Punk. This will be topped off by another rave in the woods, with top DJs in Drum & Bass and Electro, an absolute highlight from last year.

So if you are looking for a small, eclectic, intimate festival, with diverse music, make sure you are part of the new festival on the block. We will be releasing a small number of earlybird tickets, so get these before they sell out.

Join us on this wild adventure and be warned, come prepared to skank til your feet drop off!
Alcohol cannot be bought into the site and will be confiscated at security if present. We are proud to be supporting local businesses and drinks will be sold at pub prices.

Food stalls are available throughout the day. We have a great range of food and refreshments available, including vegetarian and vegan options and local suppliers. Limited food will be allowed in if you are camping – stalls will be open Friday through to Sunday.
