Live Performance
Blues/Rock/Roots
Adam Sweet plays a unique blend of blue-eyed blues and soulful southern rock. Taking his cue from the sweet sounds of Little Feat and the Allman Brothers, married to the driving guitar style of Rory Gallagher and the British blues boom sounds of Free and early Fleetwood Mac, he’s carved out a territory between Nashville and the classic rock riffs of the 60s and 70s. With an expressive vocal style, expertly piercing guitar work and growing song-writing credits, Adam plays some of the most compelling blues-rock in the UK.
His acclaimed debut album ‘Small Town Thinking’, recorded both in Devon and Nashville, received rave reviews including a full 5 star rating and the “Album of the Month” award in Guitar Techniques Magazine, praising the album for offering a “whole new perspective on the (blues) genre”.
Adam’s latest release, ‘Take Your Time’, is a stripped back acoustic offering that perfectly captures the essence of his acclaimed one-man shows. The 5-track EP, performed and produced solely by Adam, features material co-written with his long-standing writing partner Steve Black, as well as a track written with founder member of Level 42, Boon Gould. Tracks from the EP have received airplay on Blues, Roots and Americana shows in both the UK and Europe, and have been featured heavily on BBC Introducing.
Whether out front driving his new power trio, the Adam Sweet Band, or through his acclaimed one-man acoustic shows, Adam belongs to a new generation of young British blues players who are bringing energy and excitement to an established genre.
With countless gigs under his belt, he’s one of the most in demand musicians in the country, with a growing reputation to match. Whether playing in support (Sari Schorr, Beth Rowley, Martin Taylor, Cara Dillon, Wille & the Bandits) or owning the stage at festivals (Upton, Tenby and Gloucester Blues), Adam’s live shows are not to be missed. Adam Sweet effortlessly blends musical genres and talents – a bluesman equally at home singing brooding bluesy ballads or rollicking rootsy rock…[don’t let his laid-back persona fool you – that fire within ignites when he starts to play.]
“Adam Sweet’s one of those undiscovered talents that, if there were any justice, would have been swept up by Jools Holland’s researchers long ago.”
