Live Performance
Brass Band
Based in Nether Heage, Belper.
Heage Band is a friendly non contesting band. They rehearse twice a week in their own bandroom. The band plays for the enjoyment of themselves and others.
Heage Band began providing musical entertainment for the people of the local area way back in 1916. The band was formed with the intention of not only making music but creating a social group open to everyone regardless of age or ability who shared the brass band ‘bug’.
Times may have changed from those early days of the Great War and King George V but their vision has certainly not.
Nowadays thanks to years of hard work the band rehearses in its own practice hall, owns a comprehensive set of instruments and is gifted with a library of around 3000 pieces of music, providing a repertoire to suit any occasion. The versatility of the band is second to none with public performances including weddings, garden parties, and traditional park concerts, not forgetting high profile appearances at Pride Park and Derby University Graduation day.
Members of the band are all too aware of the challenges facing organisations in today’s climate but these issues actually highlight what community groups have to offer – a break from everyday activities or a chance to just do something different!
Heage band would like to invite any established players to join our friendly non-contesting band, whether new to the area or old friends considering playing again, the brass band bug never really goes away!.
The perfect venue for great food, great atmosphere. Whether you're dining with friends or just out for a drink, this is the place to come.

Andrew Whittaker and his team of chefs are proud to offer freshly prepared food using local produce, from traditional to more contemporary dishes to suit all tastes.
Our freshly prepared dishes, including vegetarian options, will leave you spoilt for choice!
We can cater for events for all occasions with a buffet or sit down meal.
Reservations aren't essential but we do recommend you book a table as we can't guarantee and table without booking. Please note we may be closed due to a private function.
​For all tables of 10 or more people we require a £5 non refundable deposit per person and a pre order for food at least one week before the booking or on booking if less than a week in advance.
