Brass Band
We are a friendly, family orientated band based in South Leicestershire. We warmly welcome players all players to any rehearsal for a mixture of fun, hard work and friendship.
The Wigston Band Organisation is made up of three bands to provide musical opportunities, tuition and support to aspiring brass players of all ages and abilities. You can find more out about each band from the menu above.
Wigston Band is our Third Section band which actively competes in contests and performs varied concerts and events throughout the year.
Wigston Enterprise Band is the feeder band to the main Wigston Band and make regular appearances at local and regional events. We also run training workshops at local primary schools.
Wigston Horizon Band is the beginner band at Wigston where instruments are available for any new learners.
We are based at the Congrational Church in Wigston where all our bands rehearse.
Play Close is the back garden of St Mary’s Church and hosts some of the town’s premier events throughout the year, including the Melton Country Fair, the annual hunt meet on New Year’s Day, fairs, circus' and other seasonal events. Play Close has a Children's Play Area and specialised play equipment suitable for a wheel chair or push chair.
The bandstand is grade II Listed.
