Lachlan Bryan and The Wildes have built their reputation on storytelling. Over the past eight years they have released four records, toured Europe and the USA multiple times, shared stages with Americana and country heavyweights and picked up a string of awards, including the Golden Guitar for ‘alt country album of the year’ with their landmark release Black Coffee.
"Lachlan Bryan is an extraordinary writer. His songs are layered expressions of human frailties, hopes, and possibilities." - Sue Jarvis, Capital News
"This is warm, REAL country music, with a kick!" - Sam Fell, Sydney Morning Herald
“Bryan and band have a peculiar talent for engaging with the tropes and mores of the country/Americana tradition while imbuing their songs with pathos, sharp pop sensibilities, and a uniquely Australian outlook” - Gareth Hipwell, Country Update
Snug 19th-century ale house lined with memorabilia, hosting regular live music and open-mic nights.
It reopened in February 2017 after a substantial renovation and with renewed emphasis on real ales (increasing beers available from three to five).
The exterior glass and woodwork date from c. 1900 and there is the interesting remains of a mosaic floor.
