Southampton-based function band, providing funk, disco, soul and contemporary music, ideal for weddings, birthday parties, charity and corporate events.

Headrush formed in 2001 with a core repertoire of the funky side of disco and pop from the 70s and 80s – think Chic, The Jacksons, Stevie Wonder. While we’ve added soul, pop and acid jazz hits from the 60s all the way up to the present day, our line up and sound reflects that golden era of dance music – a rhythm section of drums, bass, guitar and keys… topped with lead vocals and with a healthy side helping of one to three horns.

Having been around for some time, we’ve seen many musicians come and go (and come back again!) and consequently we have a great network of deps we can call on in case of emergency – the show will always go on!

Part of our appeal is the luxurious sound of a full horn section, and in order to keep things economically viable we have to go out for more than a 4 piece guitar based band. But recognising that budgets can be tight, particularly for weddings, in recent years we have offered a 6 piece line up.

Of course, we are always going to recommend the “full phat” 8 piece for a truly horny sound – the entertainment sometimes gets left to last when planning an event, but if you want to throw a great party, it’s the one thing you want to be sure not to skimp on!

Set in a beautiful old schoolhouse in Eastleigh and neighbouring the Lakeside Country Park, The Concorde is a vibrant dining, dancing and entertainment venue with versatile indoor and outdoor event space and inviting accommodation.

Easily accessible, yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Southampton city centre, this unique, award-winning and family-run venue offers a warm welcome, an eclectic mix of styles and an electric atmosphere.

The Concorde Club was launched in 1957 in Southampton by jazz aficionado Cole Mathieson, and is the oldest jazz club under the same management in the United Kingdom and possibly the world.

Originally established as a members club, nowadays we welcome non members too!
