The Market Rasen Band, formally the Market Rasen Town Band can be traced back as far as the Victorian era and has stood the test of time bringing the joy and warmth of brass band music to an ever changing audience.
With the onset of the Second World War the Band, like so many others, ceased activities but was reformed some years later with the help and generosity of the people of Market Rasen and businesses in the surrounding area.
Since its reformation the now Market Rasen Band has performed locally, nationally and internationally with concerts and competition success within the UK as well as television appearances and radio broadcasts.

Bolsover Festival of Brass is one of the leading Brass Band Entertainment Contests of today which for the last three years has produced a live-broadcast around the world to over 15,000 audience as well as its live capacity audience.
The event for 2018 will again take place at Heritage High School, Boughton Lane, Clowne, Derbyshire. S43 4QG on Sunday 30th September 2018 commencing at 9am running in two halls simultaneously.
There are five sections (Championship, First, Second, Third and Fourth) with 50 competing bands in two halls all performing a twenty minute programme of entertaining music with a featured soloist. The school boasts great facilities for audiences and bands alike. Each band being provided a 30 minute rehearsal room prior to their contest performance.
The event is held all on one level and is very accessible to all.
Catering and bar on site throughout the day and evening.
Tickets are available on the day on the door and are £8 Adult and £6 Concessions (under 16 and over 60). Children under 5 entry free.
