Description

Solasta are an outstanding folk ensemble who are fast building a name for themselves on the back of their inventive arrangements, unique sound and exhilarating live performances.

Notable performances include Celtic Connections Festival, Sidmouth Folk Week (EFDSS Folk Rising Plus Artists), Cambridge Folk Festival, Cecil Sharp House, The Green Note, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and Henley Festival (as Live Music Now artists). They feature regularly on folk radio shows and podcasts, including BBC Radio Wales (Celtic Heartbeat) and BBC Radio Shropshire (Genevieve Tudor’s Sunday Folk), RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta (ROI), Resonance FM, and The Irish & Celtic Music Podcast (USA).

Each member is an outstanding instrumentalist and sought after performer in their own right. Elisabeth Flett has performed with a variety of bands and ensembles, including folk duo Shamblestone (BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards 2017 Semi-Finalist) and sea shanty band The Mead Men, supported bands such as Breabach (Letham Nights, 2013) and won the 2015 London Fiddle Convention Senior Fiddle Championship. Cellist Hannah Thomas regularly performs on the West End production of Wicked, and has played at venues such as the London Palladium and Hackney Empire. Guitarist Jamie Leeming has a host of international tours and recordings to his name, and has performed at venues such as the Hammersmith Apollo and BBC Music Big Weekend.

Solasta are also Live Music Now Musicians providing interactive concerts at care homes, hospitals, SEND schools in and around London.

The Bell Profile Pic

Description

The Bell is a historic free house and music pub on the edge of Bath city centre: it is owned by 518 of its customers, fans and workers under IPS CoOperative rules. We finally bought the pub on July 2nd 2013. We have live music three times a week ranging from jazz to blues to folk to other things- check out the free band listings and What's On page, open mic nights on thursday, plus vinyl DJ nights at the weekend - always free!

We stock seven real ales plus two guest ales. We are in the Guardian and Observer guides to summer pubs as well as the Lonely Planet, Rough Guide, the Good Beer Guide and Le Guide du Routard. For your amusement we have table football, bar billiards (Mon - Weds), Pool, chess, backgammon, free wi-fi, a real fire and even a launderette! Every Sunday afternoon we have The Pizza Bike preparing and serving freshly made, wood-fired pizza in the garden from 12.30pm-7pm

Impressively young & impressively original new Britfolk combo who just scored a 4**** review in the Guardian (but we had them first). One to be in early on.
