Mama’s Brand New Bag has been performing an eclectic selection of blues for almost two decades

Based around the Moray Firth they have appeared at festivals and venues all over Scotland including The Ferry Glasgow, The Green Room Perth, Shetland Blues Festival , Orkney Blues Festival, Dundee Blues Bonanza, Bla’zz at Eden Court Inverness, Belladrum Festival and Inverness Jazz Festival

Mama’s Brand New Bag are Kate Kershaw (vocals), Malcolm Leiper (double bass), Sye Murray (guitar) and James Younie (sax/clarinet/harmonica)

Over the years there have been personnel changes but the band maintains its early association with barrelhouse blues and vaudeville while broadening the mix with a variety of upbeat numbers spanning the ever growing history of the blues.
