Live Performance
In-between many chairs.
Already renowned (as a puppeteer!) in Walcot in the ‘70s, the poet (Ted) Milton formed Blurt in Stroud in 1979. Minimalist Post-Punk before that even had a name; surreal poetry scaffolded on big rhythms, Milton’s out-there sax and abstract noise. There really was no-one like them then, and that’s pretty much still true.
Probably never actually split (moved to Belgium for a few years…) but their gigs have been getting rarer.
One of London’s finest small venues brought to you by the team behind the Old Blue Last since 2017.
Always being known as a live music venue serving a wide selection of craft beers & killer food, we wanted to keep true to it’s roots & continue to operate in this exact manner today.
Hidden away, just off of Hackney Road, the Sebright Arms is very much your locals boozer known for hosting early shows for buzz bands such as Courtney Barnett, Charli XCX, Catfish and the Bottlemen, H09909, Hinds, Sunflower bean and more.
Our main ground-floor bar has two side exits - fully wheelchair accessible.
Our downstairs music venue is accessible via stairs, so unfortunately is not wheelchair accessible.
We have gender-neutral toilets, plus two sets of toilets in the main bar.
