Live Performance
Acoustic, indie, wood rock, singer / songwriter... pop?
This Hertfordshire band give powerhouse performances of their own material, along with well-known songs (done their way). DodoBones are an acoustic indie band, with an ironic-pop edge.
Featuring: Robbyn Snow on lead vocals, Stephen Patmore on guitar and spoken word, Ian Newman on double bass and Mark Gordon on percussion.
DodoBones third studio album ‘Distracted’ can now be found at gigs or on iTunes / Spotify, and they are currently recording their forth.
This is one hard working band, playing countless venues, nights, breweries, bars, coffee shops, record shops and pubs across the UK, Ireland, Spain, France, Gibraltar and The Netherlands.
They’ve done some pretty cool stuff too, like playing the medal ceremony in the Hero Village: World Para Athletics Championships at the Olympic Park; supporting Professor Brian Cox at Watford Colosseum; playing the Doves Farm Kitchen at The Allergy & Free From Show (Olympia London and ACC Liverpool); busking in Marylebone and Paddington stations, finalists in the Indie Label 'Be Somebody' Competition 2015.
Noted festival experience: Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage's Spring Fair, Jimmy’s Farm Beer & Sausage Festival (and previously, his restaurant), Cambridge Rock Festival (supporting The Animals!), Brighton and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, Strawberry Fair, Herts Pride, Rock in the Priory, World Picnic, Busk ‘til Dusk, dozens of small ‘local’, beer, cider and wine festivals…
They are regularly on radio: Live sessions and interviews on BBC and regional radio stations.
They are incredibly proud of their charity experiences, regularly play charity events, including a 12 hour Gig-a-Thon, which raised almost £2,000 for Save the Children, and in 2013, released a Christmas single with local band, The Caution Horses, raising money for Shelter.
Not only that but they are most proud of their home town, Hemel Hempstead’s, music and arts movement: The band also host their own nights in their home town, and are pioneering the recent push in their borough, to revitalise the currently unloved music and arts scene, for which they are receiving support from websites, local shops, venues, event organiser, radio stations and, most importantly, the local artists and punters.
And of course, they do the odd corporate job too, like, weddings and parties: the band have played many birthday parties, and even a wedding and engagement party or two - they’re no standard ‘function’ band!
The Horns is situated just the other side of the road from the cafe quarter, at the Town Hall end of Watford High Street.
