Description

Formed in 2014 and hailing from Cardiff, South Wales, Malum Sky gained critical acclaim with their self-titled debut EP in Summer 2015.

“The EP's last track 'Sunless & Forgotten” is nothing short of a masterpiece... Brilliant vocals and amazing instrumentals... The EP closes with some of the finest guitar work I've heard in a long time”
- threesongsandout.com (2016)

“Metal is a term that's thrown around a lot these days. But don't mistake for just throwing these guys onto a pile, in fact we want to save them from it... Malum Sky come with a progressive spine and are easily one to watch”
- Discovered Magazine (2015)

2016 has seen Malum Sky discover a harder hitting sound with the addition of new vocalist Ben, showcasing new material at gigs on the band's growing schedule of dates.

In spring 2017 new self produced single & video 'Eye Above' was released to more critical acclaim.

“A mini-masterpiece”
- Adam Walton, BBC Radio Wales (2017)

“A hammerjack of a cut... Ideally showcases the band's increased diversity and imposing prowess”
- metaltalk.net (2017)

Backed up by an army of dedicated followers and a flourishing music scene in their home town of Cardiff, Malum Sky won the South Wales regional finals of the 'Bloodstock – Metal to the Masses' competition in June 2017. This earned the band a well deserved place at Bloodstock Open Air 2017 on the New Blood Stage.

Performing on the Saturday afternoon to stiff competition from the main stage, the band had filled an initially sparse tent by the end of their 30min set.

“A band that made a lot of new friends are Welsh prog metallers Malum Sky who also packed out the tent, taking the opportunity to school the crowd in how to do a "Hell Yeah!" properly... Their blend of beauty and darkness really hit the spot with the Bloodstock faithful.”
- metaltalk.net (2017)

The second half of 2017 saw Malum Sky continue to bring their music to the rest of the UK with shows up and down the country, whilst also whilst also beginning work on their next release.
Beginning 2018 with the release of a new music video for the track ‘The False Impurity’ filmed at a studio masterclass at the University of South Wales, Cardiff, Malum Sky prepare to release their new album ‘DIATRIBE’ this summer!
