Description

Newstead Brass, winners of the 2013 and 2014 Leicestershire Open Championship and prizewinners at the Bolsover Festival of Brass are one of the midland’s leading (and we believe most versatile) brass bands, performing throughout Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, the East Midlands and beyond.

As well as large and small concerts the band are also available for weddings, sporting and community events, religious festivals, corporate and conference entertainment.

Millenium Garden Profile Pic

Description

University Park has many beautiful gardens incl the award winning Millennium garden with its dazzling flower garden, timed fountains and turf maze.

The overall style of University Park might be described as ‘English Landscape’. Although no area is authentically eighteenth century, it has the main parkland components of:

rolling grassland
individual and clumped trees
shrub groups
water features
long grass 'wild' areas - which encourage biodiversity
different plant species from around the world - reflecting the international nature of the University

Members of the public are welcome to visit University Park, to walk through the grounds and enjoy the gardens and trees at any time. Refreshments are available in a number of areas such as the Lakeside Arts Centre and the Portland Building.
