The Jet Reds

Genre

Live Performance
Indie Rock N' Roll

Description

The Jet Reds are a new and exciting 4 piece combo specialising in their own unique brand of independent rock whilst drawing influences from the likes of Kasabian, The Jam, Oasis and other great luminaries from the alternative rock scene.

The principle writer and leader of the band Craig Redpath had a chance meeting with noted producer Mike Bennett (The Fall, Ian Brown, The Specials, Kim Fowley & The Sweet) having bumped into him whilst on a weekend on the drink in Manchester with his cousin.

Several drinks later the 3 of them were drinking whisky in Mike’s new flat in media city playing live rehearsal recordings from Craig’s phone.

Craig and Mike exchanged contact details then 2 weeks later the phone call came culminating in the recording of the bands first album, which features many exciting guests from artists such as Diane Charlemagne (Moby, Urban Cookie Collective, Goldie), as well as members from Elbow, The Fall and Snow Patrol.

The tracks have caused a mini-ripple within the indie industry with artists such as Neville Staple from The Specials and Fun Boy 3, pledging to endorse the band and guest on one of their tracks with his inimitable and legendary toasting style.

Head Of Steam Profile Pic

Description

Situated right across from Newcastle Central Station, The Head of Steam Newcastle has gained notoriety for hosting the best in up-to-the-minute music and is constantly recognised as being one of the best bars in the city. Combining both the bars welcoming atmosphere and warm surroundings with an emphasis on musical brilliance the Head of Steam Newcastle has proved a popular breeding ground for talent including early appearances from bands including the Arctic Monkeys, Maximo Park and The Futureheads.

The upstairs bar was refurbished in September 2015, and is packed with great craft beers, cask ales, sharing bottles, and beers from across the globe!

Facing the central railway station this is an unusual pub in that there's nothing on the ground floor.

Upstairs is the main bar with six cask beers, three real ciders and a good selection of continental draught beers.

Downstairs is one of the most popular live and recorded music venues in the city centre, no draught products in music venue, extensive range of cans and bottles.
