The City Of Lichfield Concert Band is a wind band based in Lichfield. Our wide repertoire of music ranges from Disney and Abba favourites to Holst's Planets Suite.

100 years on from its foundation, the band continues to entertain the people of Lichfield and the surrounding area.

The band has a special relationship with the City of Lichfield and plays for civic events and other public ceremonies. Several concerts are given in the Guildhall each year and the band also plays at the annual 'Proms in Beacon Park'.

Invitations are frequently received to play in other venues around the West Midlands, including Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Tamworth Castle & the Coton centre Tamworth. In 2010 and 2011 the band embarked on tours to Paris and Limburg Germany. For the last 4 years we've enjoyed weekends away to Scarborough, Llandudno, Morecambe and Sidmouth. In April 2016 the band performed at the finals of the National Concert Band Festival at the Royal Northern College Of Music Manchester.

Description

The Stratford on Avon Bandstand stands in the heart of the bustling Recreation Ground just across the river from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and just a short stroll from the town.

It is a lovely spot to enjoy a summer's afternoon listening to one of the many excellent bands while watching the boats, swans and people go by.

The bandstand is managed by Stratford Town Trust and its programme of bands runs from May through to September. Most band performances start at 2.30 and run for two hours weather permitting.
