3rd Section Brass Band.

Cubbington Silver Band can trace its history back over 100 years, although the band was officially reformed in 1995, which made 2015 our platinum anniversary.

Since 2008 the band have been the West Midlands Area Brass Band Champions three times and have represented the Midlands at the National Finals twice.

The band performs on average twenty engagements a year and competes at three contests a year which has gained the band a reputation for entertaining performances around the country.

Previous prestigious events include a massed band and choir concert at Birmingham's Symphony Hall and a performance on BBC Radio 4.

We are always on the lookout for brass and percussion players to join us. If you wish to join a friendly team, please get in contact with us for a chat or come down to a rehearsal and meet us.

Our rehearsals are every Friday evening from 19:30-21:45 at The Band Factory, Althorpe Street, Leamington Spa, CV31 2AU.

Description

Abbey Fields is set in the dramatic valley of the Finham Brook and enjoys views of the historic town and Kenilworth castle.

Grassy slopes, a lake, historic buildings and veteran trees recall Abbey Fields’ past as the farmland of St Mary’s Abbey, whose ruins adjoin the park.

Because of its important heritage, Abbey Fields is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

As well as the bands playing here there is plenty to do,
Walking – stroll along the brook and around the lake or to Kenilworth Castle
Play area – fun for children of all ages
Swimming – at Abbey Fields Swimming Pool
Tennis – five courts, free to use
Trim Trail - keep fit using outdoor gym equipment funded by the Friends of Abbey Fields
Have a snack at the swimming pool café
Watch the ducks on the lake
