Description

Twin sisters songwriters vocal divas keyboard slayers

Talk Like Tigers are a hypnotic electro-pop band from the North East of England. The band are twin sisters, Charlotte and Stephanie, whose vocals and seamless velvet harmonies have been recorded by Sony and have taken them around the world as professional touring musicians. Their travels influence their music and inspire their songwriting.

Their sound is a dreamy alternative pop in which inventive lyrics paint vivid images, and their powerful harmonies weave together to create a visceral other worldliness. Mixing acoustic instruments with synths, their soundscapes are glittered with quirky rhythms and infectious hooks.
Talk Like Tigers live performances pop with vocal harmonies as they switch between synths, guitar, drum pads and vocal effects. They charm the audience as they bring a new dimension to their recordings.

After attracting the attention of BBC Music, Talk Like Tigers recorded a live BBC Introducing session and have been played on BBC Radio 1 by Huw Stephens.

They have played live alongside Polo, Leah McFall, The Lake Poets, Another Sky and Frankie and The Heartstrings. Talk Like Tigers have played festivals including Evolution Emerging and Lindisfarne Festival on the BBC Introducing Stage, as well as renowned venues such as the O2 Academy Newcastle and Sage Gateshead. In the summer, Talk like Tigers were selected to complete a Studio Residency at Sage Gateshead.

After seeing Talk Like Tigers perform at the Sage as part of the Great Exhibition of the North recently, Tom Robinson premiered their brand new song, “Fruit”, on BBC 6 Music proclaiming that Talk Like Tigers' "singing, songs and stage presence absolutely blew me away at Sage Gateshead." Nick Roberts is also supporting “Fruit” with radio play on BBC Introducing in the North East, as well as BBC Tees. .

“Fruit” is out NOW!

Head Of Steam Profile Pic

Description

Situated right across from Newcastle Central Station, The Head of Steam Newcastle has gained notoriety for hosting the best in up-to-the-minute music and is constantly recognised as being one of the best bars in the city. Combining both the bars welcoming atmosphere and warm surroundings with an emphasis on musical brilliance the Head of Steam Newcastle has proved a popular breeding ground for talent including early appearances from bands including the Arctic Monkeys, Maximo Park and The Futureheads.

The upstairs bar was refurbished in September 2015, and is packed with great craft beers, cask ales, sharing bottles, and beers from across the globe!

Facing the central railway station this is an unusual pub in that there's nothing on the ground floor.

Upstairs is the main bar with six cask beers, three real ciders and a good selection of continental draught beers.

Downstairs is one of the most popular live and recorded music venues in the city centre, no draught products in music venue, extensive range of cans and bottles.
