Live Performance
Brass Band
Silk Brass is a First Section brass band providing high quality, entertaining musical performances throughout the North West of England.
Founded in 1997, Silk Brass is based in the picturesque village of Marton half-way between Macclesfield and Congleton. Originally the band had just ten players, but soon filled its ranks to form a full-size, traditional brass band.
The band performs throughout the North-West of England with concert programmes featuring something for everyone - from traditional brass band repertoire, to modern pop arrangements - enthralling audiences wherever they go.
The band is also a formidable contesting band, having competed, and won, at numerous competitions across the UK. It is currently ranked in the Second Section for band competitions, but from January 2016 the band has gained promotion to the First Section and will be competing against some of the finest bands in the country.
We are very lucky to have our own bandroom where we rehearse on Monday and Thursday evenings 8pm till 10pm.

Goostrey Rose Festival is a tradition that has continued since the turn of the century.
A celebration of the village children, an asset to our special community and a day when the whole village comes together to mark our summer.
The Goostrey Rose Festival takes place on the last Saturday in June, as it has for many years.
This year the parade and activities will be even more colourful and fun, and we hope you will join us in Goostrey for the celebration.
The procession will follow its traditional route from Booth Bed Lane along Main Road to the Village Hall playing fields.
We request that all visitors park their cars in the field which is adjacent to the school field in order to allow clear access for the procession and assist in keeping everyone safe.
Whilst the procession is in progress access to this field will not be possible in which case please use the Red Lion Pub car park or the field through the gate directly behind the Red Lion Pub.
Admission is £2.50p for adults and £1 for concessions payable at the gate. Children under 16 are free. Please note that the programme, which gives all the details of the event as well as pictures of last year's Rose Day, is not an admission ticket.
Some of the events & attractions on the day will include:
