Live Performance
Rock n Roll / Rhythm & Blues
Howlin' Ric is a musician, songwriter and bandleader from Leeds in the north of England. Within the roots scene there is a varied and rich range of subcultures where people are really into Rockabilly, Country or Blues and so on. Being a lover of all these American traditions and styles of music Howlin' Ric & the Rocketeers work to satisfy those American traditions with their timeless blend of high octane Rock & Roll and Rhythm & Blues.
Howlin' Ric & the Rocketeers have built up an explosive set of original music with tracks such as "Take That Bottle" which would not sound out of place in the Sun Records Studio. Equally "Take My Hand" has all the Rhythm & Blues qualities of a Chess Records track. However the signature sound of Howlin' Ric & the Rocketeers can be heard in the tracks "Cannonball" and "If I Didn't Care" which the stylings of The Johnny Burnette Trio and Eddie Cochran can be heard along with a Little Richard inspired vocal performance.
Howlin' Ric & the Rocketeers aim to deliver an exciting take on a great American tradition. Presenting original Rock & Roll and Rhythm & Blues with a classic and fresh sound!
A showcase of fine, contemporary blues talent.
The festival draws thousands of visitors from all over the world, alongside many, many local and UK based music-lovers.
