Power Pop

Description

South-coast power-pop quintet delivering big hearted jams and sweet harmonies with a visceral live energy and more volume than is strictly necessary.

Underpinned by friendships going back multiple decades, schoolyard rivals Andrew Ricks (vocals/guitar) and Peter Foulk (guitar) formed a lifelong bond over a piano and a Dire Straits cover. In 2001 they teamed up with Steven Hart (drums) to form melodic post-punk outfit Day of the Fight. With big ambitions and a really crap van they toured extensively through the noughties, until the wheels literally and metaphorically came off the bus. More recently, Jimmy Cooper (bass) and David Pryce (synth) joined to complete the line-up. This time-served connection is evident in the band’s performances, where intertwining melodies create a whole greater than the sum of its parts.
