Carrie Martin is a British acoustic guitarist, singer and songwriter from Hull in Yorkshire.
She played guitar from an early age, taught by her father. Having largely given up music to raise a family during the 1990s, she returned to writing, playing, singing and performing, inspired and encouraged by the noted acoustic guitarist Gordon Giltrap – she cites her meeting Gordon as the most important thing that has happened to her in her musical career.
Her guitar playing has attracted sufficient attention for her to be recruited as an endorsee by Vintage guitars. Influenced by the likes of Eva Cassidy and Ann Wilson from Heart, her writing and performing style nevertheless defies categorisation, as evidenced by her debut album “Luna” which was well-reviewed in Acoustic magazine.
Her second album, "What If", featured Carrie on guitar and vocals, with guest appearances from Gordon Giltrap, Oliver Wakeman and Ric Sanders
Carrie has performed in Ontario, Canada and is due to tour as special guest with Gordon Giltrap this autumn
Her new album Seductive Sky features special guest appearances from Gordon, Elliott Randall ( Steeley Dan) , Daniel Karl Cassidy and Oliver Wakeman
