The Blues came calling first, but rock was always waiting around the corner. Well it would be, wouldn’t it? Coming from the deep south, it was inevitable, but living in the deep south of a major Yorkshire City, there’s a gritty hard edge to life!
A female guitar prodigy, Chantel was told by a major label that she had a "great voice, but girls don't play guitar like that!" Wisely ignoring their comments, she enrolled at the Leeds College of Music and became the first student in the college’s history, to achieve a 100% pass mark at BTEC, with 18 distinctions. Chantel then pursued further education and left with a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music and a coveted prize, the college’s musician of the year award.

The Factory Live stands as a vital cultural hub for Worthing and the broader South Coast, offering a purpose-built environment for live performance. It consistently champions both established touring artists and burgeoning local talent, enriching the regional arts landscape.

Within its industrial shell, the venue cultivates an engaging atmosphere. Thoughtfully designed lighting schemes illuminate the performance space, while the robust Yamaha sound system ensures every chord and vocal nuance is delivered with precision, creating a palpable connection between artist and audience.

Practical considerations are well-addressed, with a fully stocked bar offering a range of beverages. The venue prioritises accessibility, featuring ramped entry, wide doorways, and level access throughout the ground floor, complemented by accessible toilet facilities. An outdoor seating area provides an additional space for patrons.

The programming reflects a commitment to diverse entertainment, regularly featuring a mix of original music, tribute shows, comedy evenings, and themed club nights. Beyond commercial offerings, the venue actively supports community initiatives and provides a platform for emerging local acts.
