Description

New Wimbledon Theatre stands as a distinguished cultural landmark in South West London, a Grade II listed Edwardian edifice that has graced The Broadway since 1910. It serves as a significant regional hub, consistently drawing audiences from across the capital and beyond for its varied programme of events.

Within its walls, the theatre exudes a sophisticated charm. The grand Edwardian auditorium, with its baroque and Adamesque detailing, offers a palpable sense of history; one can almost detect the faint, lingering scent of polished wood and aged velvet as the house lights dim, anticipating the performance.

For practical considerations, the venue offers step-free access to the Stalls via Russell Road, accommodating wheelchair users with dedicated spaces and adapted facilities, including bars and toilets. Refreshments are readily available from the various bars throughout the building.

The theatre's calendar is rich and varied, encompassing major touring West End musicals, compelling dramas, stand-up comedy, and vibrant dance productions. It is also renowned for its annual festive pantomime, a cherished tradition, and its Studio space nurtures new writing and experimental performances.
