North West-based indie pop band The Lilacs, formed in 2018, consists of Ollie Anglesea (Vocals /Rhythm Guitar), Sam Birchall (Lead), Dave Gommersall (Drums) & Matty Johnson (Bass). In just a few years together, The Lilacs have burst onto the scene, quickly moving from local venues to larger capacity headlines at Manchester’s Gorilla, multiple appearances at major festivals such as the Isle Of Wight festivals “Big Top” and are set to play their biggest headline to date later this week at a SOLD OUT O2 Ritz Manchester. Accumulating over 5 million Spotify streams to date, the band have attracted frequent radio plays from both national and local stations including multiple plays on Radio X and Xs Manchester and Radio 1. With another massive year ahead and an army of Lilacs fans behind them, who knows what’s next for these lads.

Leeds Beckett Students' Union stands as a significant cultural and social asset within the city, operating as a registered charity dedicated to enriching the student experience and serving a broader community purpose. Beyond its role as a university hub, it functions as a key events venue, contributing to Leeds' vibrant cultural landscape by hosting a diverse array of gatherings and performances.

Inside, the atmosphere is one of purposeful activity, often punctuated by the low hum of conversation and the subtle aroma of freshly brewed coffee emanating from The Hive, its on-site social space. The robust, functional furnishings provide a comfortable yet unpretentious setting, designed to accommodate both quiet study and lively interaction.

The venue is fully accessible, ensuring ease of access for all patrons. Its bar, The Hive, offers a comprehensive selection of beverages and an inclusive all-day menu, featuring vegetarian, vegan, halal, and gluten-free options, with all proceeds directly reinvested into student support initiatives.

Throughout the year, the Students' Union hosts a varied programme of events, from live music performances and theatrical productions to community-focused gatherings and student-led campaigns. These events draw both the university population and wider audiences, solidifying its reputation as a dynamic centre for engagement and entertainment.
