Join Jay Moussa-Mann for a special live launch of her new album The Lady Vanishes.

Praised by BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson as “genre-defying,” her recent track featured on Fresh Faves, Jay blends cinematic folk, alternative pop and intimate storytelling, drawing on themes of identity, belonging and new beginnings.

Inspired in part by the women’s rights movements of the 1970s and paralleled with Jay’s own experiences growing up between cultures, The Lady Vanishes is filled with vibrant character-driven stories: from the divorcee in 1974 buying a house in the Hamptons with her newfound independence, to summer camps and teen romance, to inequality in the workplace and Mediteranean nights of self-discovery, all wrapped in hook-led songs.

For this special headline performance, Jay will be accompanied by Stockton-born actor-musician Izzy Neish (Blue Jean, The National, Liverpool Royal Court), whose multi-instrumental performance brings an additional theatrical and cinematic dimension to the live show.

This one-off launch night celebrates the release of the album with specially arranged acoustic performances of songs from The Lady Vanishes, alongside carefully selected support artists.

The Green Room, an integral part of Green Dragon Studios, serves as a vital cultural artery within Stockton-on-Tees. Operated by the charitable Tees Music Alliance, this intimate venue is more than just a performance space; it functions as a dedicated hub for nurturing local musical talent and fostering community engagement across the region. Its commitment extends to building a thriving live music scene, underpinned by a strong sense of social responsibility.

Within its brick and mortar walls, dating back to the 18th century, the atmosphere is one of focused intimacy. The low, warm lighting casts a gentle glow on the compact stage, creating a sense of shared experience between performer and audience. The worn textures of the interior, a testament to countless evenings of live sound, contribute to a grounded, authentic feel, far removed from sterile commercial spaces.

This micro-venue, with a capacity of 60, offers a straightforward, accessible experience for all patrons, featuring level access from the entrance and accessible toilet facilities. While a dedicated garden space isn't a feature, its location within Green Dragon Studios, adjacent to The Georgian Theatre, places it within a vibrant cultural quarter. A selection of drinks is available, complementing the relaxed, focused environment.

The programming at The Green Room is thoughtfully curated, often showcasing acoustic performances and stripped-back sets from emerging and established artists. It is particularly known for events championing women and gender minorities, providing a crucial platform for diverse voices. Beyond scheduled performances, the space also accommodates open jam sessions and can be hired for private gatherings, further cementing its role as a flexible community asset.
