Everywhere At Once is a nationwide grassroots music festival taking place from June 26–28, 2026, spearheaded by the Music Venue Trust (MVT) and The National Lottery. It will feature over 1,200 gigs across 500+ UK grassroots venues, acting as a "festival on your doorstep" during Glastonbury's 2026 fallow year, aiming to support local venues.
Description
MacArts stands as a significant cultural asset within the Scottish Borders, operating as a charitable trust dedicated to enriching the region's artistic landscape. Housed within a thoughtfully repurposed former church, it has evolved from its origins as the St Andrew's Arts Centre into a dynamic hub for performance and community engagement, earning recognition as one of Scotland's premier small music venues.
The main hall retains an inherent sense of history, its high ceilings lending a natural resonance to performances, while the adaptable space can be configured for various events. Original pews line the perimeter, offering a tangible connection to the building's past and a firm, unadorned seating option for attendees.
Practical considerations are well-addressed, with the venue offering full ramping throughout and a dedicated accessible toilet, ensuring ease of movement for all visitors. A licensed bar serves refreshments during events, and the central Galashiels location places it conveniently within the town.
Throughout the year, MacArts hosts a diverse programme, encompassing live music, theatrical productions, comedy nights, film screenings, and a variety of workshops. It serves as a vital space for both touring artists and local initiatives, fostering a vibrant cultural dialogue within the community.
