Anti-Nowhere League are a British punk band formed in 1979 in Tunbridge Wells, England. Led by vocalist Nick “Animal” Culmer, they became known for their raw, aggressive sound and deliberately provocative lyrics.
Their 1982 debut album We Are...The League gained attention for its rebellious attitude, especially the controversial song “So What,” which led to media backlash and police scrutiny. Despite limited mainstream success, they built a strong underground following through relentless touring, and their influence later grew when Metallica covered “So What.”
The band has split and reunited several times, with Culmer remaining at its core, and they still perform today. Expect to hear all the classics—“Streets of London,” “For You,” “We Are The League,” “Snowman,” “So What” and more—so catch them live while you still can!
