Calling Young Artists!
Join us to create your very own masterpiece for our Young People's Open Exhibtion which will be on display here at the Gallery from October 2022. Taking the theme of 'culture' as our inspiration, we'll be exploring what this means to you; from your favourite food to your hobbies to what music you like to listen to! Working with an artist, you will then work in 3D or 2D to make a masterpiece which expresses your very own kind of culture!
Choose from the following sessions:
Friday 29 July: Sculpture Culture! 3D workshop for 7 - 11 year olds (10am - 12 noon)
Friday 29 July - Off the Wall - Wire Sculpture workshop for 11 - 16 year olds (1pm - 3.30pm)
Saturday 20 August: Crayon Culture 2D mixed media workshop for 7 - 11 year olds 10am - 12 noon
Saturday 20 August - Culture Shock - 2D mixed media workshop for 11 - 16 year olds (1pm - 3.30pm)
These workshops are free but due to high demand for these sessions we ask that you pay a £5 fully refundable deposit to secure your child's place. This deposit will be refunded in full upon arrival on the day. If you can't attend and can give us three working days notice we will also be able to refund your deposit. Please email museums@southampton.gov.uk with any queries.
Children attending morning sessions (aged 11 and under) will need to be accompanied by an adult.
