Description

Gordon Tyrrall is a virtuoso ex Dab Hand guitarist who has teamed up with superb Orkney fiddle player Barbara Mainland. They bring life and energy to songs ancient and modern, plus melodic toe tapping tunes.
Barbara and Gordon met when she joined the ceilidh band Morgan Rattler. She is a fiddle player from Orkney and is the daughter of Tom Mainland, an important source musician. Orkney has its own unique repertoire of fiddle music which Barbara is keen to promote.
Gordon Tyrrall (guitar and voice) is a long-standing enthusiast of traditional song, and the programme is divided equally between Orkney tunes, and English,Scottish and Irish songs - with one or two more contemporary songs thrown in.
Gordon has just recently released a cd,"Strange Sails",GAH07, on which Barbara plays fiddle.
