Jamie Mykaela has spent fifteen years being just young enough to get away with it.

The ingénue, the wunderkind, and cabaret’s weird little sister in a vintage frock, publicly humiliating herself and crowdsurfing from Australia to London to Hollywood house parties. Too young to be taken seriously, too old for youth arts grants, and somehow still being asked for ID when she wants to buy a goddamn energy drink (but never when she orders hard liquor).

But age-ambiguity is a temporary costume, and thirty has entered stage left with a knife pressed against her back. Jamie is finally forced to confront what happens when the indie darling ages out of the role she built her life around. If you aren’t ‘emerging’ or on the telly, who are you and what do you even have to offer?

One Chance Fancy is a comedy-cabaret breakdown about ambition, vanity, and fighting desperately against your own mortality and biological clock when you’re (almost) almost famous. Because sometimes your One Chance Fancy starts to feel suspiciously like your last.

Jamie Mykaela is an award winning comedy-cabaret darling hailing from Australia, and now based in the UK. Fresh from being a Musical Comedy Awards Semi-Finalist 2024 and winning the RVK Fringe ‘Impact Award’, she regularly performs in venues across England from cabaret clubs of London’s West End, floral folk bars of Brighton to the claustrophobic basements of Oxford.

Mykaela works as an alt comic, burlesque performer, chanteuse, comedy producer/co-founder of Undercover Comedy and as a vinyl soul DJ - and likes long walks on the beach and very strong, very dirty martinis. Mykaela is currently touring her internationally award-winning, multi sell out solo show DADDY in the UK and preparing ONE CHANCE FANCY for touring.
