Description
Nothing to see here ladies and gentleman, please return to your place of work in a calm and orderly manner and resume your productive activities. Oh that? That’s nothing. Well… I mean obviously it’s something, but I can assure you it’s nothing you should concern yourself with. Just a bit of trouble in a far off land. Just a few bad apples getting up to mischief on a naughty island. Just a little bit of white supremacy dressed up as patriotism. Nothing a good cup of tea can’t sort out. Look, Gogglebox has just started… you like that don’t you? Of course you do, who doesn’t! Just sit back and watch some people on telly watching some other people on telly. We’ll take care of all this nonsense, it’s all under control…
This October, The Undercover Hippy are on tour once again, promoting the release of their new single “Nothing To See Here”. As always, the band uses their music to draw attention to the issues that those in power would rather you ignored. But ignorance is no longer an option. Everyone is in this together and we will all pay the price of choosing to look away. So let’s gather together once again, join our voices in unison, bounce our bodies around to the beat for no explicable reason, and celebrate the joy of existence, whilst also drawing strength for the battle ahead. Because they might stop a single man… but they can’t stop the tide.
If you’ve not been to an Undercover Hippy gig before, you are in for a treat. By the encore you will be exalted and exhausted; entertained and educated; energised and inspired. The music combines meaningful lyrics with upbeat, bass soaked, reggae and hip-hop infused rhythms, bringing like minded people together to both acknowledge the darkness and celebrate life.
But don’t take our word for it:
Live Review - “I don’t think there’s anything quite like The Undercover Hippy... It’s truly unique, fun, and powerful, with darkly satirical lyrics in equal amounts set to a reggae beat that’s simply infectious… this has been one of the THE most enjoyable shows I’ve been to in years” - https://www.leftlion.co.uk/read/2023/april/gig-review-the-undercover-hippy-at-the-bodega

Description
The Fickle Pickle Club stands as a vital cultural artery within Westcliff-on-Sea, a venue with a storied past now vibrantly rekindled. Having once provided a stage for legendary figures before their widespread acclaim, it continues its legacy as a crucial platform for both established and emerging artists, cementing its place as a significant regional hub for live performance and community gathering.
Inside, the atmosphere is one of intimate warmth, where the low-lit space encourages connection between performer and audience. The air often carries the lingering scent of hops and anticipation, while the well-worn surfaces of the bar and seating areas speak to decades of shared experiences and memorable nights.
Located at 228 London Road, adjacent to the Cricketers pub, the club offers a focused bar service, providing a selection of beverages to complement the evening's entertainment. The deliberate absence of bar snacks contributes to a clean, uncluttered environment, allowing the focus to remain squarely on the performances.
Throughout the year, The Fickle Pickle Club curates a diverse programme, encompassing a broad spectrum of live music genres, alongside occasional intimate theatrical productions and private functions. It consistently provides a dynamic space for artists to hone their craft and for audiences to discover new sounds and experiences.
