Ayrshire born and raised Hector Gilchrist has sung from an early age. The songs of his Home Country together with a wide range of traditional and contemporary material forms the core of his repertoire.
Though a regular performer Hector was never a full time professional but retirement from the 'day job' has recently allowed him to increase appearances at folk venues and festivals throughout the UK and beyond.

Acknowledged as a fine and sensitive interpreter of the Songs of Robert Burns and always in demand during the Burns Season, he conveys the Bard's (and other's) songs and ballads, a depth of beauty and faithfulness the envy of many a balladeer. The storyline and melody of these songs never fails to engage audiences, enhanced and supported with a refreshingly uncomplicated guitar technique.
