Comfy & Acoustic, our showcase of the UK's best folk, acoustic, Americana and singer-songwriters, every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month

Frae Alora
Coventry-based Frae Alora has always used songs to express her emotions and tell the stories that words sometimes coudn't. Growing up in a broken home, songwriting became a personal therapy for FA which soon developed into a passion that directed her steps for the next few years.

Leaving her sea-side home at the young age of 16, FA moved to the Midlands to study singing at Nexus Institute of Creative Arts where she proceeded to join various bands and ended up winning a National songwriting competition with her originals band at the time, Eden Canvas.

A few years, a successful Kickstarter, and 2 EPs later, FA now performs regularly between Birmingham and London and has seen multiple airplays on BBC Introducing Coventry and Warwickshire, as well as a slot at The Big Feastival in the Costwolds.

FA treasures the simplicity of sharing beautiful musical experiences with her listeners, and to her, there's nothing more special than performing to a captive crowd in a cosy bookshop or fairy-lit church where she can get to know her audience face to face after the show.

Drawing influence from folk, acoustic, pop, soul and even hip-hop, her music conforms to no particular genre and has been described as "remarkably immediate and catchy" as well as "layered with exquisite harmonies and a natural movement between words, emotion and expression that somehow meet on her music as if for the first time (Sputnik Magazine and Treehouse Sessions, Birmingham).

annA rydeR
Anna is an original and inventive singer-songwriter with a musical style that, although based in folk, spans an array of genres. A multi-instrumentalist musical dynamo, she intertwines this fluency with a poetic and intimate lyricism, communicating her unique take on the world around her. Her captivating stage presence is combined with a playful approach to performing which reaches out to the whole audience.

Steve Warner
SteveWarnerFolk is a singer songwriter from the leafy village of Kimpton, Hertfordshire.
Writing in an observational style with clever lyrics and catchy melodies, SteveWarnerFolk is a confident and engaging performer, on subjects as diverse as the demise of the Luton Car industry, the trenches of the WW1, the Glencoe Massacre and the current addiction of all things technological
