Comfy & Acoustic, our showcase of the UK's best folk, acoustic, Americana and singer-songwriters, every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month

Elizabeth & Jameson
Elizabeth & Jameson is a stunning new collaboration comprising two rising stars of the UK acoustic music scene. Hannah Elizabeth of traditional folk trio Said The Maiden and Griff Jameson from folk-rock band Fred's House have joined forces to create an indie-folk sound which encompasses their individual musical backgrounds.
Playing all over the UK with Said the Maiden, Hannah's influences are very much planted within traditional folk roots. This is in stark contrast to Griff's recent musical history, having penned a string of quirky rock/pop anthems for Fred's House. Together, Elizabeth & Jameson arguably offers the best of both backgrounds; this is simplistic, classic song writing at its best - a stripped back, harmony-driven sound with guitar, violin and exquisite vocals.
Having already opened up for the likes of Scott Matthews, Bob Fox, Richard Digance, John Kirkpatrick, Jon Allen and Daoirí Farrell, the duo are also busy touring folk and acoustic clubs and venues across the length and breadth of the country. Elizabeth & Jameson have been receiving critical acclaim for their two debut studio EPs, along with two NMG Award nominations for Best Folk, Country & Acoustic Act in 2017 and 2018.

Ben Morgan-Brown
Ben Morgan-Brown is a singer/songwriter and accomplished finger style guitarist.
Winner of Purbeck Rising 2019, named by FATEA as one of the Rising Stars of 2018 and described by Tom Robinson of BBC6 Music as 'the brilliant Ben Morgan-Brown', his intimate and often highly personal songs and performances have drawn comparisons to Bert Jansch, John Smith & Nick Drake.
His 2019 release Nameless Gold received national airplay and was called as good as minimalist folk gets by Louder Than War and beautifully sophisticated with an incredible depth of emotional honesty by FATEA.

Me, Thee and E
Me, Thee & E's take on the singer-songwriter thing spirals out of a love of jazz, classical and folk music, from Bach to Gershwin, Paco de Lucia to Bob Dylan, Ella Fitzgerald and back again. Their songs tell the tales of their times - relationships, society, philosophy and politics, all told with the naive wisdom of late night bar talk ringing clear in every crevice. There's anger and sadness, optimism, gladness - protest against something or other and after 18 months trawling the country for venues and listening ears, they now bring to the table a selection of songs from this first period of touring life.
Tom is a jack of all trades, a failed jazz pianist taken to the guitar and Evie is a classical singer who never practiced her scales and decided she preferred singing folk songs instead. They draw on these failures to bring you a rather lovely melting pot of sounds and stories from every part of the western music map. You'll hear exciting guitar solos, extravagant vocal extrapolations and every dynamic marking in the book, from near silent, dark folk ballads to rousing, roof-raising choruses, belted through soprano lungs.
Evie and Tom are vibrant live performers and you should expect exciting, improvised interplay between vocal and guitar and many a story from these young troubadours.
