To celebrate Shakespeare's birthday, internationally-acclaimed performers Charles MacDougall (Tenor) and Robert Mingay-Smith (Piano) will present a charming afternoon of song that promises "Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not". In a programme featuring songs by Purcell, Arne, Quilter, Warlock and Finzi - amongst many more - glorious musical settings of Shakespeare's lyrics will be woven together thematically by further poetic offerings from the Bard, read by Elizabeth Magennis (Reader).
