G2 Definitive Genesis
Genre : Music - General
G2 Definitive Genesis pays tribute to a Vintage period in Genesis' long and colourful history, the four-man Seconds Out era (1975-78), whilst also dipping back into the earlier Gabriel years. It's the mid/late seventies; Peter Gabriel had recently departed to be replaced by relatively unknown 'singing' drummer Phil Collins.
Rather than being doomed to failure, the four man era of Hackett, Banks, Rutherford and Collins lifted the band's fame to even greater heights with the studio albums 'Trick Of The Tail' and 'Wind and Wuthering'. Successive world tours culminating in three sold out nights at London's Earls Court and the subsequent release of the live album 'Seconds Out' put Genesis into the super-group category.
Accolades posted online from recent shows included:
Best Performance by ANY Trib Band (not just Genesis ones either) I have ever seen...
Thanks to all the guys from G2 who were out of this world, I really cannot describe how terrifyingly good you guys are.
Dance On A Volcano, Ripples, Entangled, Los Endos, Blood On The Rooftops, One For The Vine, Afterglow, mixed up with the classics of the Gabriel years, Firth Of Fifth, Cinema Show, I Know What I Like and the infamous Suppers Ready, this is vintage Genesis, performed by G2 to a level Genesis themselves would be proud of! Well, Steve Hackett says he likes it
So take a little trip back and relive those wonderful moments of your Genesis musical history with G2.
Huntingdon Hall is Worcestershire’s premier live music and comedy venue, staging an eclectic programme of live music, comedy and spoken word events.
Countess of Huntingdon’s Chapel was a thriving Methodist church in the early 18th Century. By 1970 the building had closed as a chapel, remaining closed until the late 1970s when it was purchased by the City Council with the view of redeveloping the site. With financial support from the City and County Councils, Huntingdon Hall re-opened in 1987 as a concert venue.
Over 30 years later, Huntingdon Hall has become a leading venue for comedy and live music, staging an eclectic mix of genres, including folk, jazz, blues, world, rock, pop and R&B, as well as classical music, spoken word events, and some really world-class comedy.
The Hall is also home to the Astaria String Quartet (Quartet in Residence) and the world renowned ESO (English Symphony Orchestra), the Hall’s Orchestra in Residence.
All in all, Huntingdon Hall is a unique and quirky venue, with bags of character and fantastic entertainment on offer!
