Ivan Moult inhabits a curious, gentle space set between the 1970's folk/blues tradition and modern, confessional lyricism. Stylistically evoking the likes of Yusuf / Cat Stevens, John Martyn, Damien Rice and Nick Drake, Moult's acoustic guitar is granted further instrumental depth by the orchestral compositions of bassist and producer, Callum Duggan.
His 2010 debut EP, The Mine Canary, set critical hearts aflame resulting in radio airplay from Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6, Bethan Elfyn on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio Wales. This was then followed by two further acclaimed free release EPs: What's In A Word in 2011, and Castle Class in 2012.
Moult's debut album, Second Guessing was released in September 2014 following two years of ongoing development and precision fine-tuning. Followig, Ivan has collaborated with multi-instrumentalist producer Barnaby Carter on his Project Mooncircle release While It Still Blooms.
In March 2018, Moult released his long-awaited sophomore album Longest Shadow on independent Welsh label, Bubblewrap Records. The release was supported by BBC presenter Janice Long, CLASH, For Folk's Sake and more. Longest Shadow awarded Ivan festival slots at Cornbury Festival, Folk on The Dock and Festival of Voice, as well as land him supports with This Is The Kit and Willy Mason.
2019 sees Ivan Moult's single Speaking In Tongues released on a limited edition record curated by James Morrison for Record Store Day. Moult is currently working on his third studio album to be released later this year.
