Description

Bobby West From Liverpool. This guy has a BIG voice .deep and loudtakes tips from maybe Johnny Cash, John Cale, Jim Morrison, Father John Misty, Ian Curtis even musically perhaps Van Morrison circa Moondance to Tindersticks via Glen Campbell and Richard Hawleynicely done. Previously, lead singer with cult Liverpool band, Broken Men who supported Echo and the Bunnymen on their sellout tour. BOBBY WEST meticulously pieces together tracks to paint an authentic depiction of his world. A dark gritty world of which he ruthlessly laments, yet like a man in the gutter reaching for the stars, Bobby gilds the edges of his world to create something beautiful. His lens is tinted with a sun drenched glow at stark contrast to his surroundings. A sweet juxtaposition that echoes in his music as he sings of terrible things in beautiful melodies, like a council estate Sinatra his golden voice self-deprecates in alluring harmony.

Zkeletonz Uber pop with a crisp radio friendly techy approach, with 1980s allusions perhaps The Beloved meets Prefab Sprout?.they call it 'POSTPOP : pop music with a postpunk spirit. Bedroom producers from the underground embracing the 21st century with playfulness and confidence' In the early days Zkeletonz raised thousands for the Save the George campaign, Support Act, a live music charity initiative which helps fund Refugee Action and Road to Freedom, and other important causes like Well Street Against Racism in Hackney, the Peckham Coal Line urban park project and The Bike Project, which provides free bicycles to asylum seekers..

Delivery Office-Atmospheric alt-rock a bit like Rob Smith fronting Cocteau Twins with a little help from Sigor Ros, rather nice. Sorta shoegaze for our times, nu-gaze maybe.

Cash Cassettes 2 boys 2 girls playing melodic rock pop with a fine female lead vocal. Some nice playing in the indie pop bracket, light and airy with some crafty guitar.

Description

The Dublin Castle is a legendary pub and music venue located 2 minutes away from Camden Town tube station. It has been run by the same family for over 28 years and features 4 live bands every night as well as a great selection of beers, ciders and wines.

There are DJs after the bands on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and a fabulous jukebox in the front bar if you’re after a more relaxed atmosphere.

But what is it that makes the Dublin Castle the long-standing centre of the indie rock universe? Is it because it’s Madness’ birthplace? Because its stage has been graced by everyone from Blur, through Coldplay, Supergrass, The Killers, The Arctic Monkeys, Billy Bragg, etc? Is it because it was no surprise to see Amy Winehouse behind the bar serving costumers? Or Suggs? (who, mind you, tended to ignore costumers and serve himself) Or is it because far from being just another Camden venue it has established itself as an indie rock institution? The answer is that it’s not only because of its musical heritage that people come to the Dublin Castle, it’s because whilst you enjoy a pint, play some tunes on the jukebox, check out the live bands, get your dancing shoes on for our DJs, chat to our friendly staff or even stage-invade a little, you’re inadvertently being part of this movement the Dublin Castle leads, this cultural legacy. Expect no castle battlements. Just pure rock and roll royalty.
