For the first event in 2020, Bossaphonik expresses its jazz and soul territory as we'll be welcoming the Birmingham trailblazers Delta Autumn.

The highly original organic sound of Delta Autumn appears somewhere between 70s jazz fusion colliding between modern electronica, deep nu soul and a slight nuance of post-rock. Founder Robbie Moore alongside Sam Wooster share vocals and live synthesiser duties, the former interspersing the set with Fender Rhodes segues and cadenzas, the latter interjecting with blistering trumpet lines. Intricate jazz guitar alongside fusion funk drum kit rounds up the 4 piece who augment their setup with an array of pedals and processors creating a big live soundscape steeped in the improvisatory tradition, never resorting to pre-recorded laptop tracks which mars so much modern electronic music performance. The band cite experimental hip hop soul giant Flying Lotus and avant-garde electronica of James Blake as influences.

Delta Autumn arrive for their Bossaphonik and Oxford debut having impressed last summer in Birmingham's Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival, they have recently supported Arrested Development and Grandmaster Flash at Birmingham town hall, have played Glasgow Jazz Festival and also London forefront contemporary jazz event - Jazz re:freshed.
