Exactly a year since their Continental debut, alternative rock band - The Purple Hat Mob - return with new songs, new experiences and new animations. Along with the success of their first EP - 'Carry Me To Calais' - the last year has seen many highlights, most notably a slot at Nottingham's famous Bodega supporting Plastic Mermaids on their 'Suddenly Everyone Explodes' tour as well, of course, as a triumphant evening slot at our 2019 Beer Festival, where the brilliant Conti crowd summoned them back on for an unplanned and unprepared encore.

This headline show comes straight off the back of the release of brand new single 'Access Denied.' Expect to hear unreleased material, new covers, trippy interludes and modern psychedelia aplenty.

La French

Supporting The PHM is La French. A collage of sounds incorporating live keys/bass/guitar/synths and a sample pad, La French's music consists of blissful ambient waves and hip hop/electronic beats.

The Continental was Camra West Lancashire Pub of the Year 2010 & 2011, with a range of six changing ales, including a house beer especially brewed for us by Marble Beers, artisan ciders, speciality European and US beers both on tap and in bottle, award-winning wines from Byrne’s of Clitheroe, a great range of soft drinks and the best beer garden in town.

Our regional, seasonal kitchen serves up restaurant quality fresh food with daily specials and favourites, and we’re the indie culture venue of choice in Preston with cinema, theatre, music and more on weekly in our arts space.

Situated on the banks of the Ribble, just a brief walk away from the city centre and adjacent to picturesque park land, The Continental is an oasis of fine food, drinks and atmosphere. We hope to see you sometime soon.
