Lavinia Blackwall is well known for her previous work in Trembling Bells, who released seven albums, all met with critical acclaim. She has also worked as a performer and arranger with Nick Garrie, Kaleidoscope, Mike Heron and Bonnie Prince Billy.
Her new solo material is a rich tapestry of lyrical melodies and beautifully arranged song smithery ably accompanied by the talents of Marco Rea (The Wellgreen, Euros Childs) and Jim McGoldrick (The Wellgreen) and Seb Jonsen (Helicon and The Tomorrow Syndicate) under the name Stilton.
Keep Warm, Lavinia's latest single is out now in advance of her eagerly anticipated first solo album, which will be released in May 2020.
Liverpool's Laura J. Martin is a multi instrumentalist songwriter, playing a long list of instruments: the flute, piano, mandolin, ukulele, harmonium, etc. Laura has released 3 well received albums The Hangman Tree (2011), Dazzle Days (2013), & latest On The Never Never (2016).
By day our Cafe serves delicious home-cooked food, Fairly Traded coffee & tea and homemade cakes & pastries. All with a nod to local and ethical sourcing. We cater for Vegetarians, Vegans and dietary issues, just ask if you need anything not catered for on our menus. We also have a Delicatessen serving our own home-cooked food daily.
On Sunday to Thursday evenings we host the best acoustic music in the City, specialising in Folk, Roots and Americana.
On Friday and Saturday evenings the Cafe is available for private functions, weddings and parties, please call or email for more details.
