Description

Enjoy a walk with an experienced guide to discover the history of Cromford and its industrial past. This fascinating exploration starts at the mill and takes in the local sites of St Mary's Church, the Bridge Chapel and Canal Wharf, before returning to Cromford Mill with professional poet/writer, Sophie Sparham to create poems inspired by your walk. These poems will become part of a book to live within our 'Derwent Delights' (beautifully hand-crafted, sculptural boxes containing various textile, poetry and digital treasures) and will create a quest exploring the Derwent Valley to celebrate the uniqueness of the World Heritage Site.

This workshop is brought to you by Fleet Arts (www.fleet-arts.org(link is external)) and is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council England as part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site Great Place Scheme.
