Take a leisurely walk to Masson Mill to consider how the site developed from Richard Arkwright's cotton mill in the 18th century to the English Sewing Cotton Company's complex in the 20th. A short uphill walk will bring us to Matlock Bath's former back to back cottages and Woodbank, the home of John Edward Lawton, a key player in the Mill's story, and our return path along the hillside to Scarthin.
The paths can be muddy and slippery after wet weather. To navigate the uneven terrain please wear suitable clothing / footwear.
Meet outside the Mill Shop at Cromford Mills for the start of the walk.
Cost: £5 Limited places, advance booking required.
