A bit about Paul...

Not too long ago, singer-songwriter Paul Hawksworth was faced with the question why he makes music. As a professional musician and a music educator, the query should have been a cinch to answer. But, in that moment, the Sheffield-based artist was at a loss for a substantial answer. Now, after some deep introspection, Paul knows his purpose, and his assured artistry permeates his sweetly intimate indie-folk LP, Live from the Living Room, Volume I.

?I make music to connect with people; to offer them an outlet to reflect, and give them hope and comfort,? he reveals.

Paul?s music is elegantly essential, pared down to his heartfelt lyrics, refined acoustic guitar accompaniment, and his honeyed rasped vocals. He has garnered favourable comparisons to Passenger, Damien Rice, James Blunt and Canadian singer-songwriter Donovan Woods. Paul has been regularly selling out shows, and attracting a strong fanbase with his warmly engaging songcraft.

Highlights in Paul?s solo career, thus far, include two of his songs reaching the finals of the 2017 UK Songwriting Contest; his debut single ?Be the Light? rocketing to number 8 on the iTunes singer-songwriter chart; and releasing his well-received debut EP, Drifting Away.

Paul knows his purpose and he?s creating some of his most heartfelt and hooky work to date. He says: ?I feel like a weight has been lifted. This is my passion and my catharsis?it?s the only thing I know, and it?s the only line of work I?ve ever had. I?m happiest writing and playing shows; connecting with people. That?s my love.?
