Alys tells tales that tread a fine line between history and legend, and well-known myths that hide powerful subversive secrets.

Alys Torrance is a performance storyteller, clown and actress. She told her first story when she was six, about an Eskimo shepherd.
She co-runs Story Jam with Lucy Lill, producing professional storytelling nights, workshops and conflabs with other storytellers.
Based in London, she works across the UK, in all sorts of venues including the Soho Theatre, London, Tobacco Factory Theatres (Bristol), Summer Squall (Ramsgate), Etcetera Theatre and The Gatehouse (London), Kew Gardens, and at clubs and festivals around the country.
She has been telling stories one way or another since 1992.
We are absolutely delighted to welcome Alys for her first visit to Lichfield!

COVID STATEMENT
Although we have seen the legal end of social distancing and the wearing of a face masks, as well as other restrictions, we think it is important to keep ourselves, our storytellers and our audience members as safe as we can during these uncertain times.
Consequently we will:
1/spread out and leave as reasonable a distance as possible between "group bubbles" and each other at the venue.
2/encourage the wearing of a face mask depending on numbers attending.
3/weather and comfort permitting, ventilate the building by opening windows and external doors.
4/maintain a list of attendees who should inform Lichfield Storytellers if they subsequently test positive for Covid.
5/continue with the basic cleaning of contact surfaces both before and after each meeting.
6/provide ample hand sanitisers and encourage their frequent use.
