Phantom Booth are bringing together an epic lineup of emerging talent to support their headline show at The Facebar on Fri 24th Sept. Support comes in the shape of SE London post-punk outfit Fashion Blind, Reading alternative duo Air Circus and local singer-songwriter Michael Burns-Peake.

Phantom Booth are a Reading-based band consisting of Louis Upton-Wheeler (vocals/guitar/bass), Henry Morley (drums), Olly West (guitar) and Lewis Cowper (vocals/bass/guitar). Characterised by bewitching guitar riffs that linger long in the mind, interweaving with narrative ingenuity and hypnotic groove, the group?s defiant sound is a product of their classical training having played together in choirs and orchestras from a young age. Supported by BBC Music Introducing in Berkshire, the band?s exploits under various monikers include playing the treasured Purple Turtle and headlining DIY night Club Velocity.

2021 is set to see Phantom Booth go from strength to strength. A wealth of new material written through the tumultuous last year and a half, with sonic influences ranging from The Beatles to The Blinders, is currently being recorded at Abbey Road Institute. The band have also collaborated with Reading alternative duo Air Circus on several tracks on their upcoming debut album, including single Sapphire Saskatoon ? championed by Alex West of BBC Music Introducing in Berkshire as a ?surreal bop?. The band?s first few performances this year have provided a raucous reception; Phantom Booth have waited long enough to give audiences something to remember.

FASHION BLIND

Born out of student flats in London in 2018 and subsequently forged in bars, clubs, and independent music venues around the city and beyond, Fashion Blind trade in creative riffs and rhythms, punk spirit, catchy alt-rock hooks, and satirical (yet personal) lyricism. Over the last three years, their unique style and penchant for energetic live shows has left them with both an enthusiastic cult following and a catalogue of standout songs.

AIR CIRCUS

Reading, UK, based alternative duo 'Air Circus' consists of multi-instrumentalist Adam Adrian and pianist and producer Dan Follant. Combining their diverse musical influences, the pair are evermore evolving their sound as they collaborate with artists from a wide range of genres. The duo are set to release their self-titled debut album on September 10th, which features collaborations with Phantom Booth, dj maisie mais, 4eyez, Saint-Nash, Violetear, Perfect Alibi & Saeva.

MICHAEL BURNS-PEAKE

A 18-year-old unsigned self-taught Guitarist and Vocalist from Sunbury-on-Thames. Inspired by his Grandfather and Older Siblings' musical proficiency, Michael began his own musical exploits from a young age. Using a combination of printed guides and Youtube videos by the age of 14 Michael had taught himself to play the Piano and Guitar. He began writing his own songs and added vocals to his work and soon was taking his passion to the stage, performing at various local venues and events alongside bands including Phantom Booth.

Description

We are a club based a short walk from town centre. We run gigs, rock night on a Friday and are open to bookings: birthday parties, gigs, club nights, etc.
