This promises to be a very interesting and thought provoking, Business Network Meeting held in the Visitors Centre, below Cromford Creative, and coinciding with the COP26 Summit. One not to miss, with general networking and a talk by Mark Chimley, Director of Genus One (www.genusone.co.uk), founder of Woodland Friends and a long term advocate of trying to live more sustainably.
The title of the talk is: COP26 - The Fringe
Delving beneath the Climate Change headlines, for a look at some harsh realities and interesting science.
With a synopsis:
How do you warm a planet during an ice age?
Where can I buy a portable nuclear reactor?
Recycling and re-use.
Turn down the thermostat, put on a jumper and stop buying so much stuff.
From well to wheel: energy efficiencies of different vehicles.
Mark has planted 500 trees, tries to keep old things going (TVs, electronics, vehicles and holey jumpers) and likes to explore interesting bits of mathematics and physics.
Do come and join us. Coffee, teas, pastries and cakes will be provided.
