Description

Sterndale Singers are delighted to be joining forces on 5th March with choral group Bel Canto who are also conducted by Robert Webb, to perform Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle.

Composed by Rossini in 1863, its title is somewhat misleading since the Petite Messe Solennelle is neither petite nor particularly solemn, and despite the religious text is unmistakeably and gloriously operatic in style. The chorus of both choirs are especially pleased to be joined in performance by:
